We took Scripps Ranch High School from a 2.77 to a 3.74 team GPA. Our original goal was a 3.60 GPA, the magic number for many Division II programs to provide academic scholarships for your student-athletes. It is also a great starting place for kids looking to get into some of the best colleges and universities. What's your goal?
PRIORITIZE & RAISE THE BAR
High school sports eligibility in most states is somewhere between a 2.0 - 2.5 GPA. Our minimum GPA is a 3.00. When you raise the bar and set higher standards with even higher expectations, you'll get more. Which leads to Coach G's favorite saying. "If you have a "C" you don't need to practice football, you need to practice school. We don't do average in our program." When you make success in the classroom "THE" priority, not "a", you will see it on the field too.
SCHOOL FIRST GET'S RESULTS
A higher GPA is just the start! The recipe for success on and off the field is the same; hard work, commitment, discipline, accountability, dealing with adversity, learning to compete, and how to be a team works everywhere. As the culture of your program begins to improve the response from players, parents, teachers, administrators, and sponsors in your community will help you build all the momentum you need to make your program great.
